OUT OF OFFICE Wayne Rooney says Sir Alex Ferguson kicked him out of office after he questioned Man Utd for selling Cristiano Ronaldo
SIR ALEX FERGUSON booted Wayne Rooney out of his office over the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo.
The legendary striker recounted a moment he incurred the wrath of Fergie - despite the fact he was looking out for the best interests of Manchester United.
The now Derby County manager was never afraid to speak his mind and after selling Carlos Tevez and Ronaldo in the summer of 2009 Rooney wanted guarantees about the future.
He wanted to know what plans were in place to strengthen the team - with Antonio Valencia and Michael Owen the only major signings of that window.
Rooney would later hand in transfer requests after failing to get the reassurances he was looking for when he met with Fergie.
So angry was Fergie over Rooney questioning the direction of the club, the former United boss kicked the young Wazza out of his office, believing he was being undermined.
Rooney shared the story in a new documentary titled 'Rooney'.
He said: "I just felt at that time the club had offered me a new five-year deal, we’d sold Carlos Tevez, sold Cristiano Ronaldo, so I wanted reassurances of who we’re bringing in if you want me to commit myself for the next five years.
"Who are we bringing in to improve or are you going to try to build a team over the next three, four or five years to then be successful?
